
What is a Lease Option?
A lease option is a legal agreement which benefits both seller and buyer in giving flexibility and freedom. It allows the prospective seller to move on when they might otherwise be stuck with a property they can’t currently sell or let. A lease option allows the investor to take responsibility of the property for an agreed time period, during which he may live in it himself or let it to tenants before completing on the purchase or allowing somebody else to do so. The agreement allows such control without the necessity for large deposits or mortgage finance. Lease options should always result in a solution which is win/win for the buyer and seller.
